I called the collection agency that has the account, but they closed down, and now I don't know where the account is.
I already called the original company first, then they gave me a phone number and an account number, and I called it, and it said they were closed down.
There are two options with this. Your account was given back to the original creditor or another
collection agency has taken over the accounts.
Check with the company you owe the money to. If they
don't have the account you can either keep quiet and
cross your fingers that the account has been lost or just wait and see if another collection agency
contacts you.
I would go to the company that turned the account over to the collection agency.
